What’s New At This Year’s Port Elliot Show – Woodworking Section

The Woodwork section of the Port Elliot Show (October 6th and 7th) is expanding this year. There are going to be lots of new things to see and do. Some of the attractions this year include:

Big Stan Ceglinski from Billinudgel in northern NSW. Stan is a traditional woodworker and entertainer, making his own instruments and singing as well as entertaining and involving the whole family with wood related activities. For you woodworks, Stan is bringing a supply of exotic Queensland timbers which will be available for sale at the Show. Get in early!  http://www.stansmusicfactory.com/stan-ceglinski.html

Lie-Neilsen Tools will be demonstrating one of the world’s finest range of hand tools. Come  and see some really beautiful craftsmanship demonstrated by Paul Jupp. https://www.lie-nielsen.com/

Duck Flat Wooden Boats will have a stand at this year’s Woodwork section. Based in Mt. Barker, these guys make some really beautiful wooden sail boats. They will be there with some samples of their work and to answer any questions about building boats in wood.   http://www.duckflatwoodenboats.com/

Arbortec Australia will be there all the way for WA. They  make a range of wood shaping tools which are all powered by an angle grinder. The range makes working in Australia’s hardwoods so much easier. For those interested in larger scale carving and rustic furniture these guys are a ‘must see’.  https://www.arbortechtools.com/au/woodworking/

Woodgroup SA will be on site demonstrating a variety of woodworking skills such as carving/whittling, scroll sawing, turning, and pyrography (wood burning). It will be a great opportunity to talk to people who are expert in the crafts and maybe even get involved in a woodworking club near you.  http://www.woodgroupsa.org.au/wSA/

This year there will be an opportunity to purchase some of the art made by local wood artists. There will be a retail shop, professionally staffed on a volunteer basis by the guys from Wood Flair on Fleurieu Gallery in Victor Harbor. Come out and find that perfect gift. https://woodflaironfleurieu.com.au/
