As the entrance gates are kept locked when the show ground is not in use and prior to entering the grounds AT ANY TIME, it is essential you contact Neville the day before your intended arrival. The Showground is owned by the Southern Agricultural Society Inc. and is therefore PRIVATE PROPERTY, has a secured area and is not FREE ACCESS PUBLIC SPACE.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED at PORT ELLIOT SHOW

To successfully run an agricultural show, a significant amount of organization is required, and the workload can be shared among many people to lighten the load on the main volunteer team.

There are various ways you can help, from assisting with setup in the week leading up to the show’s opening on Saturday to taking down everything on Sunday. Some of the tasks you might take on include cleaning the halls, organizing spaces within the sheds, and helping to oversee the exhibitions (both indoors and outdoors), as well as setting up and taking down show jumping areas, etc.
