Want to Help?
YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE ON A COMMITTEE TO VOLUNTEER
Your Local Country Show – “Showcasing Country Life”.
Agricultural Shows have been a part of country life in South Australia for approximately 150 years and provide a strong forum for the promotion of the Agricultural Industry, through the exchange of ideas and information and the pursuit of excellence through healthy competition.
The organisation required to run an agricultural show is immense and the load can be shared amongst many to ease the workload of the core volunteer group. If you are “on the land” or have an interest in farming, horses in action, art, crafts, flowers, cookery, jams, preservatives, livestock, you name it – then we invite you to become a volunteer.
Contact our Secretary (Carol 0409 002 027) who will pass your details on to the Convener of the section you are interested in, or simply let us know you’re available to help as required.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED at PORT ELLIOT SHOW
To successfully run an agricultural show, a significant amount of organization is required, and the workload can be shared among many people to lighten the load on the main volunteer team.
There are various ways you can help, from assisting with setup in the week leading up to the show’s opening on Saturday to taking down everything on Sunday. Some of the tasks you might take on include cleaning the halls, organizing spaces within the sheds, and helping to oversee the exhibitions (both indoors and outdoors), as well as setting up and taking down show jumping areas, etc.
If you have a few hours to spare and would like to join our volunteer team, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Mel Spencer, at spencesurf@hotmail.com
